Karma Rage Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

The most important news is probably that up to this moment we have 5 new songs ready for the next album, so we did not waste our time. The stuff is just cool, very tough
and technique, we are happy.

2.How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it differs from the demo?
The sound of the released debut, let's say, is higher level than the demo, which by the way was not released and was recorded by band with somewhat other members and under the other name, therefore it has relation to us just by 50%. It is quite hard and modern though this new sound can not be called "ideal". We have got good experience while recording and compiling, we made conclusions and we shall for sure use it during the next record.

3What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new release?
Оur basic theme in songs is political and social unjustice, hate of the human values being underchanged, stupidity, indecency etc.
Several our songs are dedicated to the drugs problem. What we want to bring to our listener can be characterized as socially-positive aggression, which contains the message for people to look around and see the world with clearly, without the mist of lies of politicians and show-business.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
Karma is namely a fate, destiny, and according to the Indian philosophy it is the consequence of what we have done. So the meaning of the band name can be described as rageous fate,
our band's history somehow resembles it.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
Among the large festivals we can mention Metal Heads Mission, which takes place every year on the seashore of Black Sea in Crimea. The intense sound, wonderful atmosphere, sea, girls and  reckless joy. We are always glad to be on-stage, when you are on the same wave with your fans, it is the feeling of freedom which is impossible to express! As a rule, our shows are very successful,
people like it)

6.Do you have any touring plans for the future?
We have never refused from such suggestions, but unfortunately our possibilities are somewhat stressed. We do not have the promoter and this creates certain difficulties while arranging such undertakings.
However we try to use any possibility to go to some place and give a performance there, get nuts with our fans, drink beer. We have certain plans for the mini-tour around Eastern Ukraine.

You have a musical style that goes back to the past, what are your thoughts on the more modern sounding bands?

We do not think that times of thrash metal have passed away, the telling fact is the recent revival of many thrash bands from the past.
Besides, we do not play totally old-school. As regards the absolutely morn music styles, we estimate bands more for quality of their music than for their music style.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of thrash metal?
The global release has been done just recently and not enough time has passed so that it collected the sufficient amount of feedbacks but in the feedbacks which we saw some positive tendency can be tracked.
Though there is certain lack of understanding as regards the language, so we are thinking about this issue now, probably we shall change for English lyrics in the future.

What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
As we have mentioned above, we are busy with creating new material, it will be based on technical thrash metal, and we are adding many different elements to it, even jazz elements will be there. We want to make the next album more heavy and progressive, I think we shall manage this, so far everything goes well.

10.  What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
It is difficult to chose among the bands, we listen a lot of music beginning from hard rock to brutal death metal. Death, Cryptopsy, Pantera, Coroner, Exodus, Xentrix, Dream Theater, At The Gates, Edge of Sanity, Watchtower, Whitesnake, Hardline and many others. As you see our tastes are quite broad.

11.Outside of music what are some of your interests?

Every member has his own hobbies, one likes sports, someone is IT programmer, another guy likes fixing cars. We are united by the love to music and women:))

12.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
We would like just to wish all people to try to live full life, be free, value talents, refuse from banal things and use only their own brains. Good Luck to Everybody!
